- Peace of mind ad reduced risk for residents, property managers and owners.
The CookStop is a fire prevention device that is perfect for individual homes, multi-family complexes & especially retirement & independent living facilities, all which have magnified risk from kitchen fires. Unattended cooking is a top cause of fires in care complexes and residences. Smoke detectors, alarms and sprinklers are reactive solutions - by the time they activate, smoke, flames and risk are already present.
CookStop can help prevent damage and injury by continuously monitoring movement in the kitchen. If the resident leaves the room, falls asleep, becomes distracted, or leaves the stove unattended for any reason, CookStop automatically shuts the stove off. CookStop is a proactive solution with programmable cooking permissions plus motion sensing - providing even greater piece of mind.
How it Works:
A motion sensor continuously checks for movement in the kitchen. If the resident leaves the room, or falls asleep, CookStop shuts the stove off after a user-defined countdown interval.
To restart the CookStop unit, simply press the button and power to the stove top will be restored and the counter will reset.
A caregiver, visiting nurse or home health aid with the particular knowledge that comes from spending extended time with their client, is in a valuable position to make specific recommen-dations to the family about adjusting the CookStop to the client's capabilities.
